You may or may not be aware that the symbol of Leeds is an owl.

Our plans for this year’s flashmob event (more on this to follow) will include as many hand-made owls as we can get our hands on, and this is where you come in. We are asking all the crafty BookCrossers out there (and we know there are a lot of you) to create owls in whatever format you prefer. Owls can be made of any material and in any style and size, although bear in mind they may be living outside for a little while.

All owls brought along to the Uncon will be put in competition on the Saturday, with attendees voting for their favourite owl. The winner will be announced during the prize giving and raffle at the end of Saturday afternoon and will be presented with a surprise prize.

The committee are very much looking forward to seeing a parliament of exotic owls descending on Leeds in late September!
